Because the 2011 Reunion will be in Las Vegas, there will be a "Texas Augsburg Hold'em" poker tournament. You can order your "Augsburg Hold'em" Poker shirts from CafePress. The design on the front is pictured below:

The ASA and INSCOM shoulder patches form a pair of golden aces. The black aces are the flaming lightning sword of European military SIGINT, and the double-warded key of Cryptography. The backs of the cards are the Field Station Augsburg DUI. The design on the back of the shirts is either the Field Station DUI, and the silhouette of the FLR-9, or the silhouette of the FLR-9, with the ASA and INSCOM shoulder patches, flanking a pair of headphones.

| The novel is ostensibly set against the backdrop of the Berlin Tunnel, but it is just as much about life at Field Station Berlin in the mid-1970s as it is about the Berlin Tunnel of the mid-1950s. If you were ever stationed at Field Station Berlin or at Marienfelde, or Herzo Base, or Rothwesten or Augsburg, then this one's for you. | The plot is based on a "legend" that was still being told by U.S. Army soldiers in Berlin in the mid-1970s. According to the legend, we had advance knowledge of the wall, and we knew that the East-German troops who were going to build it had been told to halt construction if the Americans were to take aggressive action to stop them. |
