In Berlin you are a prime and readily accessible target for foreign intelligence agents. If you are aware of or become involved in any of the following situations, report all pertinent facts immediately to AFOSI, Phone: 819-5108/5145, or to your Commander:
1. Any contacts with citizens of a Communist country.
2. Attempts to obtain classified or unclassified information or material through other than authorized channels by anyone.
3. Attempts by individuals to cultivate friendship with military and civilian personnel for the purpose of gaining information.
4. Attempts by sales personnel to gain information about your job or your unit.

5. Attempts by persons to force you to give information because of some past or present misdeed.
6. Exploitation of US personnel having any tendency toward disaffection or having personal difficulties.
7. Attempts to gain information through trickery, bribery or unsolicited correspondence.

BEING A TARGET OF HOSTILE INTELLIGENCE IS NO SIN BUT NOT REPORTING IT IS A VIOLATION OF MILITARY LAW

  3. Remember details about people, conversations, and locations; try and get a telephone number or address.
  4. Do not discuss it with anyone.
  5. Report immediately to AFOSI, but do not give us your name or details over unsecure telephone.
